I graduated with honors in Ecology and Evolution, at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and then I obtained the PhD in Applied Biology (XXIII Cycle), at the University of Naples "Federico II". Since 2007 I collaborate to numerous research and teaching activities of the laboratories of Ecotoxicology and Microbiology of the Tor Vergata University, as a scholar, PhD student and then as a grant holder. Since the beginning, I dedicated my activities to the development of test systems, to evaluate stress effects in marine ecosystems. As often happens in the work of the ecologists, during my research activity I started important and stimulating national and international collaborations with Universities and research centers, which contributed significantly to my professional and personal growth. Among the most significant an Erasmus Mundus grant for the Queensland University (Brisbane, Australia), and some COST and Assemble grants for the CCMAR/University of the Algarve (Faro, Portugal) and the Interuniversity Institute for Marine Science (IUI; Eilat, Israel)

My research activity is mainly focused on: (i) development of integrated ecological, physiological and molecular approaches to monitor marine ecosystems (including marine phanerogames); (ii) monitoring of biotic and abiotic matrices, for the conservation and restoration of marine habitats; (iii) assessment of biological effects in organisms exposed to environmental contamination; (iv) management and analysis of biological and environmental data.

Among the most recent activities there is the participation in the research project "Tools and methods for the ecotoxicological monitoring of nanoparticles" as a research fellow at the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (Department of Biology) and a contract as a consultant at ISPRA in the framework of the research project "Monitoring of an LNG terminal and the pipeline connecting to the mainland" for the preparation of toxicity tests with marine species and the drafting of technical reports.

I like to call myself 'in love with life' and I try to take advantage of every moment to explore and learn about the world by every possible means: books, theater, music, sport and travel ... always with my partner, Simone, with which I share beautiful adventures since more than 15 years! But the best adventure began recently with the birth of our son, Morgan.
